8. To Love is an Integral Part of Human Nature
With implantation in the womb there then begins the first relationship for this new human being between himself and a person who is not him. This other person is his mother and he is her child in this relationship from now on. This relationship of existential dependence lasts intra-uterine for about nine months and extra-uterine for about 15 years. This means that a woman’s life also changes fundamentally when she is pregnant, her body is transformed into a mother’s body and, with her whole existence, she is now responsible for a new human being and its wellbeing and needs.
