This is particularly stressful for children who have a father other than the officially named father. Mothers who conceal the real father burden the child and the entire family with their feelings of shame. Speaking out in front of witnesses who believe them is a great relief, at least for the children concerned.

18. Severe Rejection and a Complete Absence of Motherly Love

There are women who are not capable of being mothers because of their own childhood and life history. They are hopelessly overwhelmed by having children because they themselves are still psychologically stuck in their own traumatising childhood. So what happens when a mother cannot adequately respond to her child’s life force and need for love? What are the implications for the child if:

A woman attempts an abortion while the child is growing in her womb?

She experiences her child as an ‘accident’ that thwarts her plans for life and has forced her into the role of mother and possibly into marriage against her will?

She does not want to have her child at all, she denies and rejects it?
